Raise the Responsibility System

As a teacher, I have read many different schools of thought on classroom management and discipline.  Dr. Marvin Marshall's book, Discipline without Stress, Punishments, or Rewards, has completely revolutionized my teaching and way of thinking.  His "Raise the Responsibility System" empowers students with the realization that they have a choice and encourages responsible choices, rather than doing it just because their lame teacher said to.  It has made such a remarkable difference in my classroom and in my relationships with my students.  I cannot recommend his book enough.

While no system is a "one size fits all," many parts of his philosophies and programs have been easy for me to understand and integrate into my classroom.  Let me know what you think!
